Kickstarting new designers

Christine Haynes is a designer of women’s clothes. She teaches sewing in three different venues in Los Angeles, and has been doing so for several years. Over a period of seven years, Christine designed entire collections by herself, participated in fashion shows, and has had a lot of attention from the press, for example from the New York Times. She has also written in many craft magazines, which demonstrates that her designs are desired by many. Christine also has her very own book ‘Chic and Simple Sewing’.

However, Christine has noticed that in the current economic climate, many people are turning to making their own clothes, to save those precious pennies. Christine has decided that she would like to launch her very own line of sewing patterns. She is hoping to raise $6500 from her kickstarter campaign, which is enough for her to launch her first two sewing patterns.

Can she do it? The answer to that is yes. Christine does all the sewing, designing and writing herself, all the while keeping a day job so that she can carry on reaching for her dream – to become a well-known designer. That’s what we call commitment.

Christine’s designs are feminine, clean, modern and vintage. She has selected the Chelsea Dress and the Derby Dress as her first two patterns. Christine would really appreciate any donations, no matter how small, to help her continue with her business success. If you do decide to donate, Christine has lined up some fabulous thank you gifts! If you decide you do not want to donate, Christine would also be very appreciative if you would help spread the word about her cause.
