We’re back!

Well, it’s been a while, hasn’t it?!

We’re very sorry the blog hasn’t been updated since September, but there has been a mass upheaval here at Sew Hip. HQ has moved from Bristol to Hertfordshire!

New team. New office. Internet down on deadline week. It’s been a few months of mayhem, to be brutally honest, but we’re back and raring to go! The new team is bursting with brilliant new ideas for the magazine, the blog and we’ve got tons of fabulous features and patterns lined up for you in up and coming issues. We’re introducing a bigger selection of beautiful patterns and making a wider range of sizes available! Be prepared for the blog to be regularly updated with tutorials, new products, news, information on shows, EVERYTHING!

The blog has been left, but fear not, for we are in the process of resuscitating it back to a thriving community and with the new team in place, you will be seeing regular posts from us and lots of great guest bloggers. We’re really excited about getting interactive with you via the blog, hearing what you have to say about the magazine and the projects in it.

So, lets introduce ourselves!

Our new editor, Wendy Gardiner, has been influential in the sewing industry for many years and is an internationally accredited sewing guru. She is also author of a number of sewing books, writer and presenter of several new sewing DVDs. Wendy strongly believes in sharing sewing skills and knowledge so that more people can make their own fashion and furnishings and realise they can be fast, fun and simple to create. And with today’s climate of Make do and Mend, she likes to share many tips on restyling and upcycling all of which can be done inexpensively and allows people to dip their toe into the addictive activity that is sewing!

The new Deputy Editor (me) is a keen crafter, though new to the world of sewing. She makes her own jewellery, loves drawing and writing and is currently learning to sew! Her background is in magazines and she’s super-keen on keeping Sew Hip the best sewing magazine in the UK!

Sarah is our wonderful tech editor. She’s a lover of all things handmade who caught the sewing bug two years ago and hasn’t put the sewing machine down since! She’s completely self-taught – and learnt to master the basics by sewing for her home, children and friends, before going on to specialise in handbags and setting up her own business, Sparkle Handbags, with a friend 18 months ago.
